Thank you for visiting the City of Washington Fire Department's website. We are a 16 man paid department
that covers approximately 5 square miles inside the city limits, the only paid department in Daviess County. Washington
has a population of 12,000 and is mostly residential and commercial with some industry.
Our main priority is serving the citizens of Washington, providing for them fire suppression and
emergency medical service. We are a non-transport basic life support department, working hand in hand with the local
ambulance service Southwest Medical.
